Johannes Pastoor Appointed as Vice President People & Culture Europe North & Central at Volvo Trucks

Gothenburg, Västra Götaland County, Sweden, April 2026 – Johannes Pastoor has been appointed as Vice President People & Culture Europe North & Central at Volvo Trucks, marking a significant leadership transition as the organization continues to strengthen its people strategy across key European markets.

In this expanded role, Johannes Pastoor will lead the people and culture agenda across Europe North & Central, focusing on enhancing organizational effectiveness, leadership capability, and workforce transformation. His mandate builds on his ongoing contribution within the Volvo ecosystem, driving alignment across regions and supporting business growth through strong people practices.

Prior to this appointment, Johannes Pastoor served as Vice President People & Culture Europe South & West at Volvo Trucks, where he led regional HR strategies and supported business transformation initiatives across multiple markets.

He also held several senior leadership roles within the broader Volvo Group, including Vice President Human Resources Vehicle Technology and Vice President Human Resources Vehicle Engineering, where he played a critical role in enabling innovation, engineering excellence, and workforce capability in advanced mobility and technology domains.

Before joining Volvo, Johannes Pastoor spent nearly nine years at AstraZeneca, where he held global HR leadership roles, including Global Human Resources Director GMD Respiratory and Global Director Strategic HR Sourcing & Partnerships, contributing to strategic talent initiatives and global HR transformation.

Earlier in his career, he held leadership positions at Randstad, Mercedes-Benz AG, Mercedes-Benz Nederland, and KPN, building deep expertise in HR leadership, performance management, and organizational development across diverse industries and geographies.

With over three decades of experience, Johannes Pastoor brings a strong track record in leading large-scale people transformations, enabling business performance, and building future-ready organizations across global enterprises.
