Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, May 2025 — Shailesh Paul has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer of Wibmo, a PayU-owned digital payments and authentication solutions provider, marking a new chapter in the company’s global growth strategy. With more than two decades of international leadership experience in the payments and financial services industry, Shailesh will lead Wibmo’s next phase of innovation and expansion across its core domains—authentication, fraud prevention, and fintech infrastructure.
Shailesh joins Wibmo after a decade-long tenure at Visa, where he most recently served as Global Head of Small Business Acceptance, overseeing global go-to-market and revenue strategies. He also played a pivotal role in Visa’s merchant acquiring business in India and South Asia, scaling acceptance from 2.6 million to over 10 million locations and establishing Cybersource as a leading e-commerce platform in the region.
Before Visa, Shailesh held leadership roles at Mastercard, Standard Chartered Bank, and MullenLowe Lintas Group, with responsibility for product innovation, marketing, regional expansion, and business transformation across markets in India, Singapore, and the Middle East. Notably, he was a founding member of the Advisory Council for the Reserve Bank of India’s Payment Infrastructure Development Fund, reflecting his policy-level impact in the Indian fintech space.
At Wibmo, Shailesh will focus on deepening partnerships with financial institutions, scaling the company’s full-stack payment processing capabilities, and expanding its presence across high-growth global markets. His appointment underscores PayU’s commitment to enhancing Wibmo’s global positioning in the rapidly evolving digital payments landscape.
