Dubuque, Iowa, United States, March 2025 – John Hickie has been promoted to Corporate Director of Human Resources/Recruiting and Retention at McCoy Group, where he will now lead HR operations across the organization’s subsidiaries with a strong focus on talent acquisition, employee engagement, and retention strategies for the growing transportation and logistics group.
John has been with McCoy Group for over three years, most recently serving as Director of Recruiting & Retention. In this role, he successfully led talent strategy and recruitment initiatives for the company’s diverse operations across North America. His contributions included enhancements to applicant tracking systems and the implementation of innovative retention practices to support a highly mobile and skilled workforce.

Before joining McCoy Group, John spent eight years as Human Resources Manager at Klauer Manufacturing in Dubuque, where he managed critical HR functions including HRIS, employee relations, and collective bargaining agreements. His leadership was instrumental in shaping a performance-driven and employee-centric workplace.
Earlier in his career, John worked at FedEx Ground for seven years as Operations Manager, where he honed his expertise in operations and process optimization in the logistics sector. He also held the role of Account Manager at Werner Enterprises, gaining valuable experience in transportation account management and client service operations.
