London, England, United Kingdom, March 2025 – John Webb has been appointed as Interim Chief Human Resources Officer at Melrose Industries PLC, a global aerospace powerhouse and owner of GKN Aerospace. With an impressive track record in HR leadership across sectors and continents, Webb brings a strategic perspective to people transformation, organizational design, and cultural integration at a crucial time for the business.
In this interim role, Webb will focus on advancing Melrose’s HR agenda, strengthening leadership capabilities, and aligning talent and culture strategies with business goals across its global operations.
Prior to this appointment, John Webb served as CHRO of GKN Automotive for over three years, where he led the global HR transformation post-acquisition by Melrose, launched new systems and values, managed critical executive succession, and played a key role in the demerger that resulted in the creation of Dowlais PLC.
Before that, he held the position of Senior Vice President & CHRO at O-I, a Fortune 500 company, where he drove people-centric transformation initiatives and advised the CEO and board on strategic HR and organizational matters.
Webb spent over five years at Wrigley as Global CHRO, overseeing the post-acquisition integration with Mars Inc., managing leadership appointments, and aligning global HR strategies with the evolving business model. This followed a notable 19-year career at Mars, where he rose through multiple leadership roles, including Managing Director of Mars India, HR Director for the Middle East and Africa, and Corporate Staff Officer for global HR.
In recent years, he has operated as an independent coach and advisor, guiding CEOs, CHROs, and leadership teams through transformation, culture-building, and strategic HR redesign. He also serves as an Executive Advisor at Challenger, Gray & Christmas, Inc., coaching senior executives in career transitions.
