Bloomfield, Connecticut, United States, July 2026 — The Cigna Group has appointed Josh Michelson as Executive Vice President, Chief Strategy and Innovation Officer. In this expanded executive leadership role, he will lead the company’s strategy and innovation agenda, helping shape long-term growth, business transformation, and enterprise-wide innovation initiatives across the global health company.
Josh has been with The Cigna Group for nearly six years, advancing through a series of increasingly senior leadership roles. He joined the organization in 2020 as Head of Enterprise Strategy, where he was responsible for driving strategic planning across the enterprise. He was subsequently promoted to Senior Vice President, Business Transformation, leading key transformation initiatives, before taking on the role of Senior Vice President, Chief Strategy & Transformation Officer, where he oversaw enterprise strategy and transformation efforts. His appointment as Executive Vice President, Chief Strategy and Innovation Officer reflects his significant contributions to the organization’s strategic evolution and operational transformation.
Before joining The Cigna Group, Josh spent almost 12 years at Oliver Wyman, where he served as Partner, advising organizations on corporate strategy, transformation, and business growth initiatives. Earlier in his career, he was a Senior Associate at Putnam Associates, providing strategic consulting services, and began his professional journey as an Analyst at ICF, developing expertise in research, analytics, and strategic problem-solving.
Josh is an alumnus of the University of Pennsylvania, where he completed his higher education, providing the academic foundation for a career focused on strategy, consulting, innovation, and business transformation.
