New York, United States, May 2025 – Julia Llewellyn McDonnell has been appointed as the Vice President, Human Resources at PJT Partners, a premier global investment bank. In her new role, Julia will be responsible for shaping talent strategies and enhancing people practices across the firm, bringing a strong blend of executive search, talent acquisition, and HR consulting experience.
Prior to joining PJT Partners, Julia Llewellyn McDonnell served as a Strategic HR Leader and Talent Consultant on a contract basis with a portfolio company. During this period, she offered key advisory support to leadership on aligning business goals with talent development initiatives.
She spent over eight years at McKinsey & Company, where she held multiple roles in the North America Experienced Professional Recruiting team. Julia led talent attraction for critical service lines and functioned as the Executive Recruiter for North America, overseeing recruitment strategies across investor relations, client communications, and energy sector practices. She also co-led initiatives such as NA Senior Hiring Captain, Recruiting Mentorship Programs, and Compensation Strategy.
Earlier, Julia held a significant tenure at Spencer Stuart, one of the world’s top executive search consulting firms, where she worked in the Chief Human Resources Officer Practice. Over nearly five years, she gained deep expertise in executive placements, market research, and candidate development across global industries.
Her foundational HR experience includes serving in HR roles at Redcats USA and working as an HR Coordinator and Internship Program Manager early in her career. She also co-founded the TIPS Young Professionals Network, a platform fostering mentorship and community among early-career professionals.
