New York, United States, October 2025 — Stellex Capital Management, a leading private equity firm investing across North America and Europe, has appointed Mariano Malvicino as its new Director of Portfolio Talent. In this strategic role, Mariano will lead talent strategy across Stellex’s portfolio, partnering with executive teams to strengthen leadership capability, accelerate organizational performance, and enhance long-term value creation.
Before joining Stellex, Mariano served as Senior Director, Executive Recruiting at Walmart, where he directly supported the Executive Committee and led search mandates for 70–80% of Walmart’s top executive roles. Over nearly four years, he recruited more than 200 officers across areas such as stores, supply chain, energy transformation, and corporate functions. He also drove executive talent intelligence, AI-based selection process optimization, and leadership succession strategies, significantly improving speed, diversity, and decision quality in leadership hiring.
Prior to Walmart, Mariano spent a decade with leading global executive search firms — Heidrick & Struggles, Korn Ferry, and Russell Reynolds Associates — where he rose through the ranks from Associate to Partner. He advised Fortune 100 corporations and over 60 private equity clients on CEO succession, leadership assessment, and organizational design. His work led to the placement of more than 25 portfolio CEOs, CFOs, and COOs and the creation of data-driven talent models that elevated executive capability across client portfolios.
Earlier in his career, Mariano worked as an Associate at McKinsey & Company, focusing on Lean and Six Sigma transformations for industrial and consumer sectors. His consulting experience provided him a strong foundation in operational excellence, workforce optimization, and capital productivity.
Mariano holds an MBA from Columbia Business School, where he honed his strategic and analytical acumen that continues to shape his approach to leadership advisory and portfolio value creation.
