Odisha, India, October 2024 – Kanshajit Bhaumick has been promoted to COO Coal Mines (Aluminium) and Project Head Ghogharpalli Coal Mines at Vedanta Limited – Aluminium Business. In his new role, Kanshajit will lead the coal mining operations for Vedanta’s aluminium business, driving the company’s coal sourcing strategy and ensuring project excellence at Ghogharpalli Coal Mines.
Prior to this role, Kanshajit served as the Project Head – Coal Mines at Vedanta Limited, where he led critical coal mine operations in Jharsugda for nearly two years. He brings over 28 years of rich experience in coal mine development, project execution, contract administration, and business management.
Before joining Vedanta, Kanshajit was an AVP – Projects at Essel Mining and Industries Limited, where he contributed to multiple greenfield and brownfield mining projects. He also held senior leadership roles at Adani Enterprises Limited, where he served as General Manager, overseeing contract administration and project execution for mining operations. Kanshajit’s extensive experience includes his time as General Manager Mining at JMS Mining Private Limited, where he played a key role in underground and opencast coal mine development.
Earlier in his career, Kanshajit held leadership roles in project management and business development with companies like SIMPLEX INFRASTRUCTURES LIMITED, P&H Joy Mining & Machinery Ltd., and Gulf Oil Corporation Ltd., where he was responsible for coal, iron, manganese, and limestone mining operations across India.
