New York, United States, April 2025 – Karan Mehta has been elevated to the role of Vice President, Human Resources, RBC U.S. at Royal Bank of Canada (RBC). In his new capacity, he will lead the U.S. HR function, aligning talent, transformation, and organizational strategies across RBC’s growing presence in the United States.
Karan has been with RBC for over 13 years, steadily advancing through diverse leadership roles within Human Resources and business transformation. Prior to his current appointment, he served as Vice President, HR, Personal & Commercial Banking, where he played a dual role by also leading the culture and change management agenda during RBC’s acquisition of HSBC Bank Canada.
Earlier, he held the role of Senior Director, HR Business Partner for various portfolios in Personal and Commercial Banking, providing strategic HR partnership to senior leadership across credit cards, enterprise payments, and marketing.
He also served as Senior Director, Change Management and led a global transformation initiative to implement Workday for 86,000+ employees. Prior to that, as Senior Director, Talent Management, Karan was instrumental in accelerating the development of key leadership pipelines across the organization.
Before focusing on HR, Karan contributed to RBC’s Business Architecture team, where he led strategic initiatives and internal engagements, and earlier in his career held positions at TD Bank Group, Ontario Power Generation, and Imperial Oil.
