Burlington, Massachusetts, United States, March 2025 – Karen Lewis has been named Chief People Officer at Cardurion Pharmaceuticals. In this role, she will lead the company’s human resources strategy, supporting Cardurion’s mission to develop innovative therapies for cardiovascular diseases.
Prior to joining Cardurion Pharmaceuticals, Karen Lewis served as Chief People Officer at Apellis Pharmaceuticals for nearly five years, where she played a crucial role in scaling the company’s workforce and building a high-performance culture to support its growth in the biotech sector.
Before Apellis, she was Senior Vice President of Human Resources at Axcella, where she oversaw HR strategy, leadership development, and organizational effectiveness for the clinical-stage biotech company.
Earlier in her career, Karen spent nearly five years at Biogen, where she held multiple senior HR roles, including Vice President of Global Talent Acquisition, Head of HR for US Commercial, and HR Business Lead for Japan, Australia, and Emerging Markets. Her work at Biogen focused on building HR structures to support international growth and developing innovative workforce planning strategies.
Before Biogen, Karen held HR leadership roles at Amazon, where she supported global HR operations, and Bristol-Myers Squibb, where she spent over a decade in various HR positions, including Director of R&D Talent Management and Acquisition.
