Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, United States, April 2026 – Kari Moyes has been appointed as Vice President – Chief Human Resources Officer at Hecla Mining Company. In this role, she will lead the company’s global human resources strategy, focusing on workforce transformation, organizational development, and strengthening a culture of safety and operational excellence across Hecla’s mining operations.
Prior to joining Hecla, Kari served as Senior Vice President & Chief Human Resources Officer at Clearwater Paper Corporation, where she played a pivotal role in the company’s turnaround and transformation journey. She partnered closely with the CEO to reshape organizational culture and led enterprise-wide HR strategies supporting over 3,700 employees across multiple manufacturing locations. Her leadership contributed to significant business outcomes, including operational efficiencies, talent transformation, and long-term value creation.
Before that, she held the role of Vice President, Labor Relations at Clearwater Paper Corporation, where she led national labor strategies and negotiations across multiple collective bargaining agreements, driving cost efficiencies and operational flexibility.
Earlier in her career, Kari spent over five years with Nestlé USA, where she held multiple HR leadership roles including National Director, Human Resources. She led large-scale integration initiatives, harmonized operations post-acquisition, and drove workforce transformation strategies across a multi-billion-dollar business.
She also held leadership roles with Meritage Homes, where she established regional HR functions, and with PepsiCo, where she contributed across HR leadership and business roles over a decade, gaining extensive experience in talent strategy, organizational effectiveness, and operational HR.
Kari began her career with Honeywell as a Human Resources Generalist, building foundational expertise in employee relations and industrial workforce management.
With over two decades of experience, she brings deep expertise in HR strategy, labor relations, organizational transformation, and workforce optimization, making her well-positioned to lead Hecla’s people agenda.
Kari holds a Master of Arts in Labor Relations & Human Resources from Michigan State University.
