Cairo, Egypt, January 2025 – Karim Halawany has been elevated to the role of Group Chief Human Resources Officer at Orascom Investment Holding (OIH). In this pivotal role, Karim will lead the company’s HR strategies, fostering talent development and driving organizational growth.
Karim transitions into this role after a tenure as Group HR Director at OIH, where he significantly contributed to the company’s HR transformation initiatives. His tenure at OIH has been marked by impactful strategies that have enhanced employee engagement and operational efficiency.

Karim brings with him over two decades of diverse experience. Before joining OIH, he was an HR Leader at Qatar Investment Authority (QIA) for nearly 12 years. During his tenure, he played a critical role in shaping HR strategies aligned with Qatar’s National Vision 2030. His responsibilities included overseeing HR operations across multiple geographies and enhancing workforce efficiency.
As the Founder and Board Member of Cantalop.com, Karim revolutionized the job search landscape in the MENA region with a platform that centralized job listings, creating a healthier marketplace. He also served as an Investor and Board Member at SaveMnT, an innovative eCommerce platform in Egypt.
Earlier in his career, Karim founded CFR Global Executive Search, where he specialized in executive recruitment and consulting across diverse sectors. His corporate journey began with roles at Vodafone, BAT, and Raya CX, where he developed his expertise in customer relations and technical support.
