Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, April 2026 – Karthik SM has been appointed as Head HR – India, Malaysia and Emerging Markets at Biocon, strengthening the company’s leadership as it continues to expand its global footprint.
In this role, Karthik will lead the human capital strategy and HR operations across key geographies, focusing on talent transformation, employee engagement, and organizational effectiveness to support Biocon’s growth ambitions.
At Biocon, Karthik SM steps into an expanded leadership role after building strong internal experience across the organization. Most recently, he was associated with Biocon Biologics, where he served as HR Head – Global Operations and Enabling and earlier as Global Head of Talent Acquisition, playing a key role in scaling talent capabilities and supporting the organization’s growth journey, including large-scale hiring and transformation initiatives.
Prior to this, Karthik spent over five years at IQVIA as Head of Talent Acquisition – South Asia, where he led large-scale hiring programs, workforce planning, and talent strategy across the region, managing high-volume recruitment operations and building strong talent pipelines.
Earlier, he had a long and impactful tenure at Accenture, where he held multiple leadership roles in recruitment and talent delivery across India and international markets. During this period, he led large teams, managed high-volume hiring pipelines, and contributed to setting up recruitment operations across multiple geographies.
He began his career with roles at Flextronics, People First Consultants Pvt Ltd, and Ma Foi Randstad, building a strong foundation in talent acquisition and HR operations.
