Excelsior, Minnesota, United States, January 2026 — Behavioral Health Group has appointed Kasie Plekkenpol as Chief Transformation Officer, strengthening its executive leadership as the organization accelerates operational excellence, clinical scalability, and enterprise-wide transformation across its national footprint.
In her new role, Kasie Plekkenpol will lead transformation initiatives across Behavioral Health Group’s outpatient opioid treatment and recovery network, focusing on operational performance, care delivery optimization, and scalable growth. She will work closely with executive leadership to enhance system-wide effectiveness while supporting BHG’s mission of delivering evidence-based, patient-centered behavioral healthcare.
Prior to joining Behavioral Health Group, Kasie served as Senior Vice President, Optum Health Operations at Optum, where she was accountable for national operations across 33 care delivery organizations and more than 7,000 employed physicians. In this role, she led enterprise functions including revenue cycle, supply chain, contracting, Lean/Six Sigma, and ancillary services, establishing clinic performance remediation models that unlocked $20 million to $100 million-plus in value per market.
Earlier at Optum, she held multiple senior leadership roles including Senior Vice President, Infusion Pharmacy Growth, where she led national sales and expansion strategy, and Senior Vice President, Service Line Advancement, driving specialist and ancillary service transformations that generated over $300 million in enterprise value over five years. Her leadership was instrumental in scaling outpatient services, optimizing cost structures, and improving access to care through innovative service models.
Before her tenure at Optum, Kasie held leadership roles at BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee, where she served as Director, Health Management Product Strategy, contributing to population health initiatives and employer-focused wellness solutions. She also brings early-career experience from organizations including BioScrip, building a strong foundation in healthcare services, product strategy, and operational execution.
In addition to her corporate leadership experience, Kasie currently serves as an Advisor at Sensorum Health and is the Business Owner of North of Now Consulting, reflecting her continued engagement in healthcare innovation, advisory work, and strategic transformation.
Her appointment underscores Behavioral Health Group’s commitment to building a future-ready organization capable of delivering consistent, high-quality care at scale while navigating the evolving behavioral healthcare landscape.
