Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, May 2025 – Kate Weinberger has been promoted to Head of People Partnering – Engineering at Xero, a leading global provider of cloud-based accounting software. In her new role, Kate will lead the Engineering People Partners team and partner with the Chief Technology Officer to evolve and implement Xero’s global people strategy for engineering.
Kate brings over 15 years of progressive HR leadership experience, having previously served at Xero as Global People Experience Business Partner for Design & Product, where she drove strategic people initiatives, partnered with senior leaders, and led key talent management processes.
Prior to joining Xero, she spent over four years at Atlassian, serving most recently as Principal HR Business Partner – Engineering. In this role, Kate was responsible for HR strategy and execution across global engineering teams, leading M&A integration efforts, and guiding organizational design and change management. She also contributed to talent planning, leadership coaching, and business transformation initiatives.
Before her time at Atlassian, she held senior HR positions at Sydney Water, Philip Morris International, and TransGrid, where she developed a reputation for driving organizational effectiveness, strengthening leadership capabilities, and aligning people strategies with business transformation goals.
Kate’s career began in talent acquisition and grew through roles involving HR business partnership, enablement, and strategic HR leadership. She is well-regarded for her collaborative approach, ability to lead cross-functional teams, and passion for cultivating inclusive and high-performing cultures.
