City of Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa, April 2025 – Kelly Maroon has joined CAPACITI as the new Head of Talent, where she will oversee all talent operations and program delivery across four locations in South Africa. In her new role, Kelly will spearhead integrated talent acquisition strategies, early talent workforce planning, and demand-driven placement projects to bolster the growth of South Africa’s tech ecosystem.
Prior to this, Kelly served as Head of Career Education at UVU Africa (CapaCiTi) for over two years, where she led strategic planning, educational technology initiatives, and capacity-building programs aimed at equipping youth with industry-aligned skills. Her efforts were central to enhancing digital capabilities and improving employability for young talent across multiple sectors.
Earlier, Kelly held several impactful roles across the education and youth development sectors, including Academic Operations Manager at UNi4 Online and Learning and Development Manager at Educor Holdings. She was instrumental in deploying Learning Management Systems, leading change management initiatives, and developing over 500 academic staff to embrace remote and hybrid learning models.
Throughout her career journey, Kelly also served in leadership capacities at CityVarsity, where she acted as Academic Head and Higher Education Programme Reviewer, ensuring regulatory compliance, academic excellence, and the development of forward-looking academic programs. Earlier in her career, she was a Lecturer at Ruth Prowse School of Art and a Reviewer and Editor at the Journal of Artistic Research, contributing richly to creative academic research and practice.
