SAN FRANCISCO, USA — Kong Inc., an innovator in cloud API technology, announced today the appointment of Sunil Wadhwa as Chief Customer Officer. Wadhwa will spearhead all customer care facets from onboarding and training to ongoing management, aiming to elevate the success Kong’s clients achieve with its solutions.

Sunil Wadhwa brings over two decades of experience in customer success from leading enterprise software companies. At Kong, he will join the executive leadership team, serving as a pivotal advocate for customer needs and spearheading initiatives that enhance customer value and drive product innovation.

Expanding Impact and Innovation

Kong’s growth has been notable, with the company reporting over $100 million in annual recurring revenue in 2023 and serving prominent clients like GlaxoSmithKline, Moderna, and the New York Stock Exchange. Its products, including the widely used open-source API gateway and the new AI Gateway, support over 400 billion API calls daily across approximately 700 commercial customers.

Before his new role at Kong, Wadhwa held significant positions at Zscaler, Druva, Palo Alto Networks, and Juniper Networks, where he was pivotal in expanding customer support operations. His recent tenure at Zscaler involved leading functions that generated substantial premium support business revenues.
