Warwick, Rhode Island, United States, September 2025 – Bicara Therapeutics has appointed Laura Masterson as Director, People Operations & Total Rewards. In this role, Laura will oversee people operations and compensation strategy, ensuring the company’s workforce is supported with best-in-class HR systems, programs, and employee engagement initiatives as Bicara advances its mission in innovative cancer therapeutics.
Laura joins Bicara Therapeutics from Sarepta Therapeutics, where she served as Senior Compensation Partner for nearly two years. At Sarepta, she was responsible for developing and managing global compensation frameworks, aligning rewards with organizational goals, and advising leadership on talent strategy to support the company’s high-growth biotech environment.
Prior to this, she spent close to three years at Collegium Pharmaceutical, Inc. as Senior Manager, HR Operations & Total Rewards. In this capacity, she designed and executed HR operational processes, benefits programs, and compensation systems, ensuring compliance and enhancing employee engagement across the organization. Earlier at Collegium, Laura also worked as a Senior Human Resources Associate, supporting HR operations, employee relations, and organizational development.
Earlier in her career, Laura was Human Resources Manager at Narragansett Bay Insurance Company, where she led HR programs for business operations in Rhode Island. She also spent three years as Human Resources Associate at Providence Equity Partners, providing HR support to investment and portfolio teams.
Her professional journey began at Starbucks, where she advanced to Shift Supervisor, building strong people management, customer service, and operational skills that later formed the foundation for her HR career.
