Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada, January 2026 — YWCA Regina, one of Saskatchewan’s most respected community-focused organisations, has announced that Leah Sharpe has accepted the role of Chief People Officer (CPO). A long-time supporter of the organisation, Leah shared that YWCA Regina has been “near and dear” to her for the past decade, and that her volunteer association has given her first-hand exposure to the organisation’s mission-driven impact in making communities safer, healthier, and more equitable.
In her statement, Leah highlighted YWCA Regina’s leadership in trauma-informed care and its commitment to living decolonization in action, positioning the organisation as a powerful example of purpose-led leadership within Canada’s social impact ecosystem. Her appointment comes at a time when organisations like YWCA Regina are strengthening their leadership capacities to deliver deeper community impact while building resilient, inclusive workplace cultures.
Leah brings strong expertise across people strategy, organisational development, employee experience, learning, inclusion, and leadership enablement, developed through a long career at FCC / FAC, where she has led multiple leadership portfolios spanning organisational learning and development, workforce planning, corporate strategy, and employee inclusion. Her transition to YWCA Regina reflects a rare blend of professional capability and personal commitment to social purpose — a combination expected to strengthen YWCA Regina’s people, culture, and leadership priorities.
Before joining YWCA Regina, Leah Sharpe spent nearly 15 years at FCC / FAC, where she currently serves as Vice President, Organizational Learning and Development. In this leadership role, she has been responsible for driving enterprise-level learning strategy, leadership development, and organisational capability building — work that supports culture, performance, and long-term talent readiness.
Prior to becoming Vice President, Leah served for nearly four years as Director, Employee Experience and Inclusion at FCC / FAC. In this role, she led organisational development efforts that enabled stronger leadership, culture, and employee experience outcomes, while also providing strategic direction to DEI programs aimed at building a more inclusive and equitable workplace aligned with business and workforce needs.
Earlier in her FCC / FAC journey, she served as Senior Manager, Workforce Planning, leading workforce planning for future talent needs and driving diversity and inclusion strategy. She also held roles in corporate planning and reporting and internal communications, building strong expertise in strategy execution, stakeholder engagement, and employee communication — capabilities essential for a senior people leadership role in a high-impact organisation.
At the beginning of her career, Leah worked in the public and community sector with organisations including the Regina Open Door Society and the Government of Saskatchewan, building deep exposure to social impact work, public policy environments, community engagement, and service-oriented leadership — experiences that strongly align with YWCA Regina’s purpose and operating context.
