London, United Kingdom, February 2026 — UBA UK has announced the appointment of Lok Mishra as Chief Executive Officer, reinforcing the Group’s commitment to strengthening its UK banking platform and supporting cross-border trade and financial flows between Africa and the United Kingdom.
In his new role, Lok Mishra will lead UBA UK’s overall strategy, regulatory engagement, and business growth agenda, with a strong focus on transaction banking, correspondent banking, and client-centric solutions across regulated markets. His appointment is expected to further enhance UBA UK’s position as a key financial bridge between Africa, the UK, and Europe.
Lok brings decades of senior leadership experience across wholesale, corporate, investment, and transaction banking, with a proven track record of leading regulated banking institutions in the UK and Europe. He is widely respected for his expertise in transaction and correspondent banking, regulatory leadership, and building high-performing teams in complex operating environments.
Prior to joining UBA UK, Lok served as Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer at ICICI Bank UK PLC, where he led a comprehensive business and cultural transformation. Under his leadership, the bank returned to profitability, significantly improved asset quality, strengthened regulatory relationships with UK and European regulators, and expanded its digital banking capabilities for retail, SME, and corporate clients across the UK–Europe–India corridor.
Earlier, Lok held senior leadership roles at ICICI Bank, including Group Head – Corporate Banking and Global Head – Transaction Banking, where he was responsible for large corporate relationships, structured finance, capital markets, custody services, and global cash and trade businesses. His tenure was marked by strong portfolio quality improvement, digital transformation initiatives, and sustained profitability growth.
In addition to his executive roles, Lok has served as a Non-Executive Director at the Association of Foreign Banks and most recently as a Board Advisor at Revolut, providing strategic guidance on regulated banking, governance, and international expansion.
His appointment underscores UBA Group’s strategic focus on strengthening its UK operations and continuing to support clients and partners engaged in business across Africa–UK trade corridors.
