Milan, Lombardy, Italy, March 2026 – Giovanni Villa has started a new role as Head of Group Corporate Governance and Secretary of the Board at Nexi Group, bringing with him decades of experience in corporate affairs, governance, and legal leadership across leading European organizations.
In his new position, Giovanni will oversee group corporate governance frameworks and board-level processes, ensuring robust governance practices, regulatory alignment, and effective decision-making at the highest levels of the organization. His appointment comes at a time when Nexi continues to strengthen its leadership in Europe’s fast-evolving payments ecosystem.
Prior to joining Nexi Group, Giovanni spent nearly 18 years at Prysmian, where he served as Director Corporate Affairs and led corporate governance and secretarial functions. During this extensive tenure, he played a pivotal role in shaping governance structures and supporting strategic decision-making for one of the world’s leading cable manufacturers.
Before Prysmian, he held the role of Director Corporate Affairs at Sorin Group, where he further deepened his expertise in corporate governance and legal affairs within a global business environment.
Earlier in his career, Giovanni worked with Mediolanum SpA, managing corporate secretarial affairs, followed by roles in Finanza & Futuro and Cardif Assicurazioni, where he built a strong foundation in legal and corporate governance functions.
