Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom – October 2024 – Louise Smith has joined Wheatley Group as the Strategic Director of Group People Services. In her new role, Louise will be responsible for developing and implementing people strategies across the organization, enhancing employee engagement, and promoting an inclusive culture aligned with Wheatley’s mission to improve homes and lives.
Before joining Wheatley Group, Louise was the Global HR Projects Director at Essentra, where she led HR projects across various global locations, focusing on HR strategy, change management, and employee engagement over a span of 10 months. Her role involved aligning HR strategies with business objectives, driving performance improvements, and fostering a people-centric culture.
Prior to Essentra, Louise was a Senior Consultant at HRcore Ltd, where she provided HR consulting services to clients across public and private sectors, including leading FMCG companies like Coca-Cola and Amazon, as well as public entities like the Student Loans Company Ltd. With over 5 years at HRcore Ltd, she was instrumental in developing HR frameworks, driving transformation, and implementing strategies to enhance stakeholder engagement.
Louise’s earlier experience includes working with Zero Waste Scotland, where she served as the Operations & People Director and the People & Transformation Director for a combined duration of over 4 years. In this capacity, she was part of the Executive Leadership Team, leading strategic HR initiatives, implementing operational excellence programs, and overseeing cultural transformations.
Louise has also held leadership roles at CalMac Ferries Limited, Student Loans Company, and William Grant & Sons, where she was pivotal in implementing HR projects, transformation programs, and employee development strategies.
