Letchworth, England, September 2024 – Marcelle Stewart has taken on the role of Head of People and Engagement at Settle. In this new position, Marcelle will manage a team of HR professionals and spearhead the delivery of the people strategy aligned with Settle’s ambitious 2030 plan. Her leadership will play a vital role in supporting the organization’s mission to transform lives through housing and community engagement.
Marcelle most recently served as People Projects Director at Brooke Weston Trust, where she led strategic HR projects across 11 schools. Her tenure included driving key initiatives focused on leadership, HR strategy, and project management. Marcelle’s efforts ensured that the Trust’s HR objectives were closely aligned with its broader mission of educational excellence.
Before her role at Brooke Weston Trust, Marcelle was the Human Resources Director at Gi Group Holding, overseeing HR leadership across four key brands. She managed a team of 17+ HR professionals and directed people initiatives for over 6,000 employees across the UK, Ireland, and the Netherlands. Marcelle played a pivotal role in the integration of mergers and acquisitions, alongside spearheading diversity and inclusion initiatives that earned the company multiple awards.
Earlier in her career, Marcelle held the role of Senior HR Business Partner at Randstad UK, where she managed HR operations for over 8,000 temporary workers and 600 employees across multiple locations. Her contributions included leading employee relations, managing TUPE transfers, and providing strategic HR advice to senior stakeholders.
Marcelle also served as Interim HR Business Partner at Huntingdon Life Sciences, where she supported over 300 employees, guiding the HR strategy for several divisions, including Environmental Sciences and IT. Her focus on talent development and organizational restructuring contributed to enhanced business performance.
Settle is a resident-focused housing association, providing over 23,000 residents with homes across Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, and South Cambridgeshire. The organization is committed to offering personalized services that reflect the unique needs of its residents, aiming to create positive community impacts through social housing initiatives.
