Stockholm, Sweden, September 2025 – Marina Dögg Jónsdóttir has taken on a new role as Head of People Experiences at Starbreeze Entertainment, a leading game development studio renowned for its iconic PAYDAY™ franchise. In her new position, Marina will lead employee experience initiatives across the organization, focusing on culture building, engagement, talent development, and fostering a thriving workplace environment across Starbreeze’s global studios.
Marina brings more than a decade of talent and people leadership in the gaming industry. Prior to joining Starbreeze, she was Head of Talent at Cult of the North, where she led recruitment and talent strategy during a high-growth period. Alongside, she continues to operate Unlock Potential Coaching, where she provides executive and career coaching rooted in purpose and performance.
Earlier, Marina worked as a Senior Technical Recruiter at Epic Games, where she led end-to-end hiring processes across game and tech functions in Sweden. Her work focused on building deep partnerships with hiring teams and scaling hiring pipelines in alignment with the studio’s expansion goals.
Before that, Marina spent nearly four years at Wargaming, where she was instrumental in building DPS Games from the ground up—scaling the studio to 120 employees across multiple European locations. She served as a Lead Recruiter, overseeing strategy, tools, team management, and C-level hiring, and supporting recruitment across Europe, the US, and APAC.
Earlier in her career, she spent over five years at CCP Games, holding roles as Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist and Talent Acquisition Specialist, where she managed global recruitment efforts across Shanghai, Reykjavik, Atlanta, and Newcastle, with a focus on game development, tech, and corporate roles.
Marina holds a Master of Science in Human Resources Management from Háskóli Íslands, and began her professional journey as a Danish language teacher, later transitioning into HR through internship and early talent roles.
