Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, July 2026 — Canada Gold has appointed Matt Salvatore as its Chief Marketing & People Officer, entrusting him with responsibility for the company’s brand, marketing, communications, customer experience, and people strategy as it continues expanding across Canada and the Pacific Northwest.
In his new role, Matt will lead the strategic direction for enterprise marketing, brand development, communications, customer experience, talent acquisition, leadership development, employee engagement, and organisational culture. Working closely with the executive leadership team, he will align business strategy with employee experience to strengthen organisational performance, customer trust, and long-term growth.
Prior to this appointment, Matt served as Vice President, Marketing, Communications, People & Culture at Canada Gold, where he built the company’s communications, marketing, customer experience, and people functions from the ground up. He established the communications infrastructure, scaled a cross-functional team across marketing, communications, HR, and customer experience, secured national and international media coverage, and developed high-profile partnerships with organisations including the Ottawa Senators and Hamilton Tiger-Cats. Earlier, as Vice President, Marketing & Communications, he led the company’s integrated marketing, media relations, advertising, digital communications, and customer engagement strategy.
Before joining Canada Gold, Matt spent more than four years with Boat Rocker, progressing to Vice President, Corporate Communications & Content Marketing, where he led global corporate communications, executive thought leadership, media relations, and content marketing for one of Canada’s leading entertainment companies. Earlier, as Vice President, Corporate Communications, he played a key role during a period of significant corporate transformation, including IPO preparation and M&A activity, while supporting the promotion of internationally recognised television productions.
Earlier in his career, Matt held progressively senior communications leadership roles with NATIONAL Public Relations, Edelman, FleishmanHillard, and Hill & Knowlton, building extensive expertise in corporate communications, brand strategy, crisis management, executive communications, public affairs, media relations, digital marketing, and integrated communications across multiple industries.
With nearly two decades of leadership experience spanning strategic communications, brand building, customer engagement, organisational culture, and executive advisory, Matt brings a unique combination of commercial, marketing, and people leadership to Canada Gold as the company enters its next phase of growth.
