Chicago, Illinois, United States, May 2025 – Melanie Tinto has joined Grainger as Chief Human Resources Officer, bringing a career spanning over two decades in global HR leadership, talent strategy, and organizational transformation. In her new role, she will lead Grainger’s human capital agenda, championing culture, inclusion, capability building, and employee experience across a complex global footprint.

Melanie joins Grainger after serving more than seven years as Chief Human Resources Officer at WEX, where she played a pivotal role in shaping the company’s growth-oriented people strategy. Under her leadership, WEX scaled talent globally, strengthened leadership pipelines, and built a high-performance culture amid rapid innovation and transformation.

Prior to that, she was VP, Global Talent Acquisition and Chief Learning Officer at Medtronic, leading integrated strategies in talent development and acquisition to accelerate Medtronic’s growth worldwide. Her deep understanding of workforce dynamics positioned the company as a top destination for healthcare and tech talent.

Earlier, she held leadership roles at Hewlett-Packard as Vice President, Leadership and Organization Development, and at Walmart, where she oversaw global talent management initiatives for senior leadership and officer populations. At both organizations, she spearheaded enterprise-level initiatives in succession planning, executive development, and diversity strategy.

Her early career includes impactful roles at Bank of America, where she led learning and leadership development, talent strategy, and college recruiting; and at Cigna, where she advanced through multiple senior HR and OD roles, contributing to succession planning, high-potential talent development, and leadership pipeline design.
