FRANKLIN, Tennessee, USA, April 23, 2024 – Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc. (MMNA), a key player in the automotive industry, announced today the promotion of Katherine Knight to the pivotal role of Senior Vice President, Chief Legal and Administrative Officer. This newly created position is designed to consolidate strategic functions such as Legal, Human Resources, and Corporate Governance under Knight’s experienced leadership.
Previously serving as Vice President, Chief Legal Officer, HR & Corporate Governance, Knight’s responsibilities have expanded in her new role to include oversight of Government and Industry Relations, External Affairs, and Sustainability. This appointment is part of Mitsubishi Motors Corporation’s “Challenge 2025” mid-term plan, which focuses on sustainable growth, compliance, governance enhancement, and creating social value.
Mark Chaffin, President and CEO of MMNA, emphasized Knight’s comprehensive vision for the company’s operations. “Katherine has a unique vision for MMNA’s corporate operations and corporate brand that extends far beyond her legal expertise. In this new role, she will support and strengthen our operations internally and externally, and further solidify MMNA’s position as an innovator in our industry,” said Chaffin.
Knight, who joined MMNA in 2019, brings a wealth of experience from her previous roles, including VP, General Counsel and Human Resources at a public transportation/logistics company, and Senior Counsel for Nissan North America. She is a graduate of Vanderbilt University Law School and earned a B.A. in International Studies from the College of William and Mary.
