Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, November 2025 – Mohua Sengupta has been appointed as the SVP & Country Head at The Standard, marking an important milestone in her distinguished global career spanning technology, BFSI, digital transformation, academia, governance, and creative leadership. In her new role, she will lead strategic operations for India, strengthen The Standard’s global capability footprint, and drive enterprise-wide innovation as the company continues expanding its flexibility-first, people-centric workplace benefits ecosystem.
In her most recent corporate leadership role, Mohua Sengupta served as Head of the Novartis Corporate Centre in Hyderabad, where she guided compliance, strategic leadership, people management, and financial oversight across shared services. Before that, as Managing Director of Mashreq Global Network, she scaled Mashreq’s India GIC and established new global capability centres in Pakistan and Egypt while championing the bank’s pioneering work-from-anywhere model and ensuring governance across all three international centres.
Earlier, she played a transformative role at 3i Infotech, leading the global services business as EVP & Global Head of Services and driving its shift toward digital transformation across BFSI, healthcare, and government sectors. Before that, as SVP & Global Head of BFSI at ITC Infotech, she led one of the company’s largest verticals, driving accelerated business growth and achieving significant industry recognition while overseeing domain-led digital transformation programmes for global clients.
Prior to these senior roles, Mohua Sengupta built a strong leadership foundation across IGATE, Mphasis, Accenture, Wipro, Royal Bank of Canada, and Unit Trust of India, where she shaped solutions, led domain consulting across BFSI, managed global delivery, and drove complex programmes across North America, India, and emerging markets. Across these organisations, she contributed extensively to the evolution of digital-first operating models, innovation frameworks, and enterprise transformation strategies.
Alongside her corporate leadership, Mohua Sengupta has cultivated a multifaceted leadership identity through her long-standing roles in governance, industry councils, and creative learning. She continues as Independent Director at Turtlemint and Cigniti Technologies, contributes to the NASSCOM GCC Council (Karnataka), and plays an academic leadership role as Board of Studies Member for the Digital Transformation MBA at NMIMS. Her creative leadership flourishes through Ventures, the theatre platform she co-founded, where she drives theatre-based behavioural learning, emotional intelligence interventions, and performance arts initiatives.
Her educational journey reflects a strong analytical and leadership foundation. Mohua Sengupta earned her MBA in Corporate Finance & Management of Financial Institutions from the University at Buffalo, graduating with an almost 4.0 GPA, securing a place on the Dean’s List of Honour, and being awarded the ‘Best Intern of 1998.’ Prior to that, her BA and MA in Economics from Jadavpur University laid the groundwork for her early roles in finance and operations.
