Toronto, Ontario, Canada, June 2025 – Mona Malone has taken on an expanded leadership role as Chief Administrative Officer in addition to her continuing responsibilities as Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) at BMO. This change reflects BMO’s commitment to building a high-performing, digitally enabled, future-ready bank and signifies Mona’s deep influence across enterprise functions including People and Culture, Marketing, Communications, Social Impact, Real Estate, Procurement, and BMO Québec.
Mona has been part of BMO for over 16 years, and has served as CHRO and Head of People & Culture for more than six years. In this capacity, she has overseen enterprise-wide people strategies, talent development, cultural transformation, and diversity and inclusion initiatives. Her leadership helped BMO earn recognition as one of the Best Workplaces in Canada and a repeat listing on the Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index.
Prior to this, she held the role of Deputy Head Human Resources & Chief Talent Officer, where she led the enterprise hiring and talent strategy. She earlier served as Chief Talent Officer, a role that saw her spearhead multiple leadership development and succession initiatives aimed at future-proofing the organization’s talent pipeline.
Earlier in her career at BMO, Mona served as Regional Vice President – Personal Banking and as CHRO for the Personal & Commercial Banking Group, where she helped drive both business and people strategies across the retail banking network. She also led Leadership & Enterprise Learning, shaping onboarding, risk, and regulatory training programs.
Before her extensive journey at BMO, Mona held leadership positions at ePost, a joint venture between BMO and Canada Post, as VP – Marketing & Product Management, and worked as a Management Consultant at Ernst & Young, specializing in organizational change and strategic HR.
