Camarillo, California, United States, December 2024 – Monica Van Berkel has been named the Chief Human Resources Officer at Semtech Corporation, a leading provider of high-performance semiconductors, IoT systems, and cloud connectivity services. In her new role, Monica will oversee global HR strategies, driving employee engagement, fostering leadership, and supporting Semtech’s commitment to innovation and sustainability.
Monica joins Semtech from CalAmp, where she served as Chief People Officer for nine years. At CalAmp, she led a global HR team, strategically aligning human resources initiatives to support 1,000 employees. Her efforts were instrumental in reducing healthcare costs, increasing diversity, and launching engagement initiatives that earned multiple workplace awards.
Prior to CalAmp, Monica spent a decade at EMCORE Corporation as Chief Administrative Officer and Vice President of Human Resources. She spearheaded critical HR and IT initiatives, including global ERP implementation and workforce optimization, while contributing to M&A activities and maintaining a strong compliance track record.
Earlier in her career, Monica held senior HR roles at First Data Corporation, Gateway, and Western Digital, where she honed her expertise in compensation, benefits, and HR systems, building a reputation as a strategic leader.
