In her new role, she will advise clients on indirect tax, trade, regulatory strategy, and business transformation, helping organizations navigate increasingly complex tax and regulatory environments while driving sustainable growth and operational excellence.
Monika Arora brings more than 24 years of experience in indirect taxation, trade advisory, regulatory strategy, and business transformation. Prior to joining Alvarez & Marsal, she spent over nine years with Deloitte, most recently serving as Partner – Indirect Taxes, where she advised multinational corporations and leading Indian enterprises on indirect tax strategy, cross-border trade, digital transformation, government incentives, compliance, and litigation.
During her tenure at Deloitte, Monika worked across a diverse range of industries including manufacturing, FMCG, e-commerce, telecommunications, IT/ITES, and healthcare. She partnered with businesses on large-scale investments, tax optimization through value chain alignment, government incentive programs, and cross-border trade opportunities. She also led digital transformation initiatives focused on tax compliance, process automation, and risk mitigation while advising clients on complex litigation, audits, investigations, and regulatory assessments. Earlier, she served as Director – Indirect Taxes at Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India Pvt Ltd and previously spent over a decade with PwC as Associate Director – Indirect Taxes, building extensive expertise in indirect tax advisory and regulatory consulting.
Recognized for her deep knowledge of indirect taxation, trade advisory, compliance management, tax optimization, digital transformation, policy advocacy, stakeholder engagement, and business model transformation, Monika has consistently helped organizations develop commercially viable tax strategies while navigating evolving regulatory frameworks.
