Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, July 2026 — PhonePe has promoted Mrigakshi Kaul to Head of Privacy Compliance, recognizing her significant contributions to strengthening the company’s enterprise privacy framework and advancing responsible data governance across one of India’s largest fintech platforms.
In her expanded leadership role, Mrigakshi will lead PhonePe’s enterprise-wide privacy compliance strategy, data governance, privacy-by-design initiatives, AI and data ethics frameworks, and regulatory compliance programs. She will continue driving the organization’s privacy agenda while supporting innovation, customer trust, and compliance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDPA) 2023 and other applicable regulations.
Prior to this promotion, Mrigakshi served as Associate Director – Privacy Compliance at PhonePe, where she led privacy compliance across the group’s businesses. Her responsibilities included DPDPA readiness, privacy framework development, privacy-by-design implementation, third-party privacy risk assessments, product privacy reviews, AI ethics frameworks, data-sharing governance, and enterprise privacy advisory.
Earlier, she served as Senior Manager – Data Privacy, where she played a key role in strengthening PhonePe’s privacy program by leading privacy initiatives for acquisitions, developing incident response frameworks, establishing executive privacy reporting metrics, and supporting proactive privacy risk management across products and business functions.
Before joining PhonePe, Mrigakshi spent more than 11 years with Deloitte, progressing through multiple leadership roles including Consultant, Senior Consultant, Lead Solution Advisor, Senior Solution Advisor, and Manager. During her tenure, she advised global organizations on enterprise privacy programs, GDPR implementation, CCPA compliance, privacy-by-design transformations, data governance, AI governance, third-party risk management, privacy automation, security frameworks, and regulatory compliance. She also led large cross-functional consulting teams across the United States and India while managing complex privacy transformation programs for leading multinational organizations.
Mrigakshi completed the Leadership Principles executive program from Harvard Business School Online (2025–2026), further strengthening her leadership capabilities alongside her extensive expertise in privacy, governance, and regulatory strategy.
With over 16 years of professional experience, Mrigakshi has established herself as a leading expert in data privacy, privacy compliance, data governance, AI ethics, regulatory compliance, privacy-by-design, enterprise risk management, and digital trust.
