With an impressive career spanning over three decades in the energy sector, Bhatra brings to EET Retail a wealth of experience and a proven track record of success.

Before joining EET Retail, Narayan Bhatra served as the Chief Retail Officer at Nayara Energy, where he was instrumental in establishing India’s second-largest oil and gas company as the nation’s fastest-growing private fuel station network. His extensive career also includes significant management roles at Essar and Reliance Industries, where he was responsible for operations across India and Africa. These roles have honed his expertise in strategic leadership, operational excellence, and market expansion, contributing to his total of more than thirty years in the sector.

Bhatra’s appointment comes at a pivotal time for EET Retail as it embarks on ambitious plans to develop a significant portfolio of Essar-branded fuel retail outlets within the next three years. The company aims to become the UK’s retailer of choice for consumers, with a focus on expanding its network across all regions and exploring potential acquisitions to accelerate growth.

EET Retail is also setting sights on the future of mobility, committing to the provision of low-carbon, high-quality fuels and catering to the burgeoning e-mobility market. This aligns with EET Fuels’ significant investment in decarbonisation efforts, including a state-of-the-art hydrogen production facility, underpinning the company’s dedication to sustainable energy solutions.

“I am excited to be joining EET Retail now. It has a clear and very ambitious vision for growth, as well as the potential to create a truly market leading proposition for low carbon high-quality fuels,”

Narayan Bhatra, CEO , EET Retail

Deepak Maheshwari, CEO of EET Fuels, expressed confidence in Bhatra’s leadership, highlighting the company’s focus on innovation, customer-first beliefs, and the creation of best-in-class fuel outlets as cornerstones of its strategy.

EET Fuels, part of EET, plays a crucial role in the UK’s decarbonisation agenda. With ambitious plans to establish an energy transition park and become the UK’s first low carbon process refinery, EET aligns with national strategies on the Green Industrial Revolution and energy security.

Tony Fountain, Managing Director of EET, emphasized the company’s commitment to decarbonising production processes and enhancing energy security, underscoring the strategic importance of Bhatra’s leadership in advancing these objectives.
