Johnson’s appointment was officially announced on April 3, 2024, marking a significant addition to Northmarq’s senior leadership team. With a profound background in human resources within the financial services industry, Johnson is tasked with leading Northmarq’s HR strategy to bolster the company’s growth and leadership principles.
Before joining Northmarq, Johnson was a key figure at SmileDirectClub in Tennessee, where he served as Senior Vice President, Talent, Development & Culture. During his tenure, he led all talent functions, playing a pivotal role in aligning HR strategies with business objectives for the direct-to-consumer healthcare retailer.
Johnson brings to Northmarq over 20 years of experience in building and leading HR teams with a commercial focus and possesses more than 16 years of experience at prestigious financial services organizations, including Russell Investments, Ameriprise Financial, and Allianz Life Insurance Company. His tenure at Ameriprise Financial as Vice President, Global Head of Talent Acquisition saw him enhancing global talent management processes, while at Russell Investments, he managed HR for its operations across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.

Johnson, a Bachelor of Arts in political science graduate from Saint John’s University, Minnesota, is poised to implement a vision that elevates Northmarq’s employee experience across the country, leveraging his extensive financial services experience.
