ENGIE, a global leader in low-carbon energy and services, has made a strategic appointment to its executive team. Olivier Vandelaer, a seasoned professional with a rich background in human resources, digital transformation, and cybersecurity, has been named the new Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) and Chief Information Officer (CIO) of Research & Innovation, effective January 2024.
Vandelaer brings over two decades of experience across various sectors, including energy, telecommunications, and banking. Prior to this new role, he served as the CIO at ENGIE Research & Innovation for two years, where he played a crucial role in integrating research and operational capabilities to contribute significantly towards ENGIE’s sustainability ambitions.
In his new dual role, Vandelaer is expected to leverage his expertise in organizational development, people management, digital transformation, and cybersecurity to drive ENGIE Research & Innovation (R&I) forward. The R&I division is known for its commitment to exploring, experimenting, and pursuing sustainable competitive advantages at scale.
