London, United Kingdom – October 2024 – Paola Castiati has joined World Vision as the Director of Technical Talent and Mentoring. In this newly established role, Paola will focus on enhancing technical talent development, fostering mentorship programs, and guiding talent strategies to support World Vision’s mission of addressing the root causes of poverty and uplifting vulnerable communities worldwide.
Before joining World Vision, Paola served as the Sr. Programme Manager at CARE for nearly 3 years. She led the organization’s efforts in distributing humanitarian aid, managing complex grants, and overseeing risk analysis and capacity-building initiatives. During her tenure, she doubled the aid distribution from $60 million to $120 million, reaching 2 million people globally, while securing an additional $50 million in donor funding.
Prior to CARE, Paola was a Business Development Manager at Tearfund for over 4 years, where she was instrumental in designing operational strategies that doubled the organization’s funding portfolio. Her work also included providing technical guidance to international offices and establishing global partnerships to enhance the impact of Tearfund’s initiatives.
Paola also served as the Emergency Program Director for AVSI Foundation in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, where she led emergency support efforts for internally displaced persons, identified funding streams, and recruited and trained international staff. Additionally, she held roles as Area Manager and Project Manager for AVSI, demonstrating her ability to manage resources, lead project delivery, and ensure effective crisis response in challenging environments.
