Parag Sharma Appointed as Chief Executive Officer at Zelestra-India

Gurgaon, Haryana, India, October 2025 – Parag Sharma has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of Zelestra-India, a multi-technology renewable energy company backed by EQT, one of the world’s largest private equity firms. Before joining Zelestra, Parag Sharma served as Founder & Chief Executive Officer at O2 Power, one of India’s leading renewable energy platforms. Under his leadership, O2 Power achieved significant growth across solar and wind portfolios, establishing itself as a key player in the clean energy ecosystem. His vision positioned O2 Power as a reliable and scalable developer, known for operational excellence and investor confidence.

Prior to founding O2 Power, Parag held the position of Chief Operating Officer at ReNew Power, a Goldman Sachs–backed renewable energy company. Over nearly eight years, he played an instrumental role in scaling ReNew’s capacity to over 1 GW and diversifying its investments across wind, solar, and hybrid technologies. His strategic foresight and deep industry expertise helped drive ReNew’s growth into one of India’s largest renewable energy companies.

Earlier in his career, Parag gained valuable experience in consulting and energy advisory through leadership roles at KPMG, ICRA, and CRISIL. At KPMG, he worked as a Director in the Strategic and Commercial Practice, advising large infrastructure clients and energy sector projects. His tenure at ICRA and CRISIL saw him leading multiple energy and infrastructure practices, focusing on project feasibility, regulatory strategy, and financial structuring for power sector clients.

With over two decades of rich experience spanning consulting, operations, and leadership, Parag brings to Zelestra a rare combination of strategic insight and on-ground execution excellence — qualities that will be pivotal in expanding the company’s footprint across clean energy technologies such as solar, wind, batteries, and green hydrogen.
