Bordeaux, Nouvelle-Aquitaine, France, April 2025 – In a strategic move to accelerate its global development plan, Maison Dourthe has appointed Pénélope Godefroy as its new Managing Director, effective 5 May 2025. With this leadership transition, Dourthe reinforces its ambition to expand and elevate its portfolio of wines and iconic estates on the international stage, including Château La Garde, Château Le Boscq, and Château Belgrave.
Pénélope Godefroy brings to the role a robust blend of technical expertise and strategic leadership, holding qualifications in agricultural engineering, oenology, and an MBA. Her extensive experience in both domestic and international wine markets, with senior roles at Artemis Domaines (including Château Latour) and Château d’Yquem, positions her well to drive Dourthe’s mission of sustainable innovation, quality enhancement, and brand prestige.
Among her top priorities will be strengthening the unique identity of each estate, deepening partnerships with grape growers, and ensuring the highest quality standards across the brand portfolio. Godefroy is also expected to guide the estates through ambitious sustainability initiatives and innovation-driven value creation.
Supporting her in this endeavor, Valentin Jestin—a decade-long contributor to Dourthe—has been promoted to Assistant Managing Director. Jestin will lead international market growth strategies and work closely with global clients and partners under Godefroy’s leadership.
In parallel, the company announced the departure of Frédéric Bonnaffous, former Director of Wine, who is stepping down to pursue new professional opportunities. Dourthe expressed gratitude for his long-standing contributions, which have played a vital role in the company’s journey.
With these changes, Maison Dourthe embarks on a new chapter aimed at securing its position as a pioneering modern wine company in Bordeaux, rooted in a rich heritage and driven by a forward-thinking vision.
