Peraton Appoints Gabe Camarillo as Defense Sector President to Strengthen Mission-Critical Defense Capabilities

Reston, Virginia, United States, May 2026 – Peraton today announced the appointment of Gabe Camarillo as president of its Defense sector in its latest move to strengthen its top executive leadership team and accelerate growth. This strategic appointment underscores Peraton’s unwavering dedication to the warfighter and reinforces its commitment to delivering solutions that incorporate advanced tools and technology with its deep domain and mission knowledge.

Bringing more than two decades of government service, defense acquisition, and industry leadership, Camarillo will spearhead initiatives to deliver advanced, mission-specific solutions for U.S. warfighters and allies operating in highly contested environments.

“We are excited to welcome Gabe to the Peraton team,” said Peraton President and COO Bob Genter. “His rare combination of senior government service, defense acquisition expertise, and industry leadership makes him uniquely positioned to drive our Defense sector forward. Gabe’s deep understanding of the warfighters’ needs and his track record of delivering transformative modernization initiatives will be invaluable as we continue to develop and deliver the most advanced, mission-critical solutions on which our customers depend.”

Most recently, Camarillo was senior vice president of the Defense Technology Solutions Business Unit at KBR, where he led a large and growing portfolio of defense technology programs. Prior to KBR, Camarillo served as the 35th under secretary of the Army, where he was responsible for overseeing Army operations, personnel, and modernization priorities and leading the Army’s programming and budgeting process. As under secretary, Camarillo led service-wide reforms in software acquisition, foreign military sales and drove the establishment of the Army’s first digital engineering policy.

“Peraton has built a reputation for delivering trusted, differentiated solutions for its customers to address some of the most complex and consequential national security challenges. Delivering capabilities to our warfighters at speed is vital to our national security, and I am proud to join this talented team and to strengthen and expand our support to U.S. warfighters and allies,” said Camarillo.

Camarillo earned a Juris Doctor from Stanford Law School and a bachelor’s in government from Georgetown University. He was named a WashingtonExec Top DOD Exec to Watch in 2025.
