Platform94 has announced Marie Donnellan as its new Chief Executive Officer.
Donnellan, transitioning from her role at EY, steps into leadership with a commitment to advance Platform94’s mission of becoming an international centre of excellence for scaling technology businesses.
Expressing her enthusiasm for the new role, Donnellan stated, “I am honoured and humbled to share today’s announcement of my appointment as Chief Executive Officer at Platform94, an organisation which I have long admired.”
Donnellan’s vision for Platform94 is driven by an unwavering passion for innovation, collaboration, and entrepreneurship, pivotal for empowering the technology landscape in the region. “I am very excited about the impact that we can make in powering the technology ecosystem and providing the much needed supports for scaling businesses to thrive on the global stage,” she added.
Joining at a crucial juncture, Donnellan is set to steer Platform94 through an era of growth, highlighted by the recent €5.2m expansion. This development has expanded the hub’s footprint to 66,000 square feet, accommodating over 600 employees, with an additional 100 positions currently open. The expansion underpins Platform94’s commitment to fostering a dynamic environment for technology startups and scaling enterprises in the west of Ireland.
Platform94, previously known as the Galway Technology Centre, has undergone significant transformation since its inception in 1994. The hub has supported over 300 companies, contributing to the creation of 3,000 jobs and generating at least €1.3 billion in Gross Value Added (GVA) for the region. The recent extension is a testament to Platform94’s evolution and its dedication to enhancing the tech industry’s growth and innovation.
With a warm welcome from the Platform94 team, chairperson Dave Hickey, and the board of directors, Donnellan is poised to harness her extensive experience and leadership to propel Platform94 towards its goal of shaping a globally recognized tech ecosystem.
