London, United Kingdom, June 2026 — Airwallex has appointed Pranav Sood as its Chief Financial Officer (CFO). In his new role, he will lead the company’s global Finance, Corporate Development, and Operations functions, supporting Airwallex’s continued international expansion and long-term growth strategy.
Sood brings extensive leadership experience across financial services, fintech, strategy, corporate development, business operations, and international growth. His appointment comes as Airwallex continues to strengthen its position as one of the world’s leading global payments and financial infrastructure platforms serving businesses across multiple markets.
Prior to taking on the CFO role, Sood spent nearly three years at Airwallex, most recently serving as Executive General Manager, EMEA, where he led the company through a period of significant growth across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Reporting directly to the CEO, he was responsible for the EMEA profit and loss portfolio and led a team of more than 175 professionals across offices in London, Amsterdam, Paris, Vilnius, Dubai, and Tel Aviv. During this period, he also served as a board director on the company’s UK and Netherlands entities and briefly held the position of Interim Global Head of Marketing, helping establish the foundations for the company’s global marketing function.
Before rejoining Airwallex as CFO, Sood served as an Operating Partner at Bain Capital, where he worked on building technology investment opportunities across Europe. He also maintains an active presence in the startup ecosystem as an angel investor, backing numerous early-stage technology companies focused on solving business-to-business challenges.
Earlier in his career, Sood held several leadership positions at GoCardless, including Vice President, Small Business, Vice President & General Manager, International Expansion, and Director of Business Operations & Strategy. During his tenure, he led international expansion initiatives, strategic planning, fundraising activities, growth programs, partnerships, financial planning, and commercial operations.
Prior to GoCardless, he spent more than five years with Bain & Company, where he rose to the position of Manager and advised clients across strategy, customer growth, financial services, retail, private equity, and business transformation initiatives. His early career also included experience with J.P. Morgan Cazenove and Deloitte & Touche.
With a career spanning fintech, payments, financial strategy, international expansion, corporate development, operations, growth leadership, and investment advisory, Sood brings a unique combination of operational and financial expertise to Airwallex as the company enters its next phase of global growth.
