Kumar, an esteemed alumnus of IIM Calcutta, embarks on this role after an illustrious journey with P&G that began in 2000 directly from campus, spanning nearly 24 years with significant tenure in India across various sales functions.

Currently, at the helm of P&G’s operations in Australia and New Zealand, Kumar has been instrumental in achieving unparalleled metrics through category growth and strong retailer partnerships. His prior experience includes leading the Sales Team in P&G India until 2020, showcasing a deep-rooted understanding of the Indian market’s nuances and consumer needs.

A passionate advocate for equality and inclusion, Kumar’s leadership has been pivotal in expanding many programs to significantly impact employees and the community, including orchestrating P&G ANZ’s largest-ever corporate partnership with the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras.

Kumar succeeds Mr. LV Vaidyanathan, who, after a commendable 28 years of service, departs from P&G to explore new avenues. Under Vaidyanathan’s stewardship, P&G India achieved remarkable progress in offering superior consumer propositions and delivering consistent growth, while also amplifying its commitment to Citizenship, including Community Impact, Equality and Inclusion, and Environmental Sustainability.

P&G President for Asia Pacific, Middle East, and Africa, Mr. Stanislav Vecera, expressed his gratitude towards Vaidyanathan for his exceptional service and warmly welcomed Kumar, stating, “I am thrilled with Kumar Venkatasubramanian’s appointment as the India CEO, who has been an integral part of the P&G India growth story for well over two decades. The India business and people will immensely benefit from his leadership and vision, and collectively I am certain they will take the India business to new heights while maintaining a balanced growth outlook.”

Reflecting on his new role, Kumar Venkatasubramanian remarked, “It is a moment of great pride for me to come back to India and spearhead the P&G business in the country. I look forward to being back in the market, learning more about the Indian consumers and serving their needs.”

With Venkatasubramanian at the helm, P&G India is poised for a future marked by sustained growth, innovation, and a continued focus on integrated growth strategies. His visionary approach aims to lead constructive disruption across the value chain, with an emphasis on agility, empowerment, and accountability within the organization. This transition heralds an exciting new chapter for P&G India, as it seeks to further its legacy of excellence and leadership in the consumer goods industry.
