New Delhi, Delhi, India, June 2025 — Arun Behal has been appointed as the Chief Operating Officer (Strategic Initiatives -Operations) at GMR Airports Ltd., New Delhi, where he will lead strategic initiatives across GMR Airports. With a career spanning over three decades in airport management and operations, his elevation reflects the group’s focus on leveraging leadership talent to further scale its infrastructure excellence.
Arun has been associated with GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd for nearly six years, where he most recently served as Chief Operating Officer. In this role, he played a key part in operational strategy and stakeholder alignment at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Hyderabad.
Earlier, Arun held multiple leadership roles at Delhi International Airport Limited, including Vice President & Head – Airside Management, Associate Vice President – Terminal Operations, and General Manager – Terminal 3. His efforts in commissioning and operationalizing IGI Airport’s Terminal 3 were instrumental in positioning the facility among world-class airports.
Before joining the GMR-led ventures, Arun was with Airports Authority of India for over 14 years, where he undertook critical functions related to terminal and airside management at both Mumbai and Delhi airports. His broad responsibilities ranged from service quality enhancement initiatives to stakeholder engagement and training delivery.
Arun began his professional journey with industrial sales roles at Juass Polymers and ASIL (Satya Group) before moving into the aviation sector as a Management Trainee at AAI. He has consistently demonstrated a passion for operational efficiency and passenger-centric service delivery across India’s leading aviation hubs.
