Toronto, Ontario, Canada, August 2025 — BMO has announced the appointment of Rachel Gottlieb, M.A., as Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), Canadian Personal & Commercial Banking. In her new role, Gottlieb will lead the HR strategy for one of BMO’s core business segments, focusing on talent development, organizational effectiveness, and employee engagement to support the bank’s growth and customer experience goals.
Gottlieb steps into this position after serving as CHRO for Technology & Operations and Corporate Areas at BMO for seven years, where she was instrumental in aligning HR strategies with business objectives, driving leadership development, and fostering a high-performance culture across diverse teams.
Prior to that, she was Managing Director, Executive Resourcing & Talent Advisory Practice at BMO, leading executive-level talent acquisition and advisory programs to strengthen leadership capability across the organization.
Earlier in her career at BMO, she held multiple senior HR business partner roles, including Director & HR Business Partner – Corporate Groups, Senior HR Business Partner – HR Division, Marketing & Communications, and Senior HR Business Partner – Capital Markets Operations, where she supported strategic HR planning, organizational design, and change management initiatives.
Before joining BMO, Gottlieb worked as HR Manager at Labatt Breweries of Canada and as Organizational Consultant at Right Management, where she developed expertise in organizational development, leadership coaching, and talent management.
