Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, July 2025 — Rachna Kanwar has taken on a new strategic leadership role as Chief Consultant at Mid-Day Studios, furthering her impactful journey in the Indian media and digital content landscape. Her new appointment comes on the back of a decade-long association with Mid-Day, where she previously served as Chief Operating Officer – Digital Media and COO – Midday OTT Content Production.
During her tenure at Mid-Day, Rachna played a pivotal role in the brand’s digital transformation. She was responsible for shaping the digital presence of iconic publications such as Mid-Day, Gujarati Mid-Day, and Inquilab, while also spearheading Midday Studios’ foray into OTT content. Her contributions have helped reposition the group as a significant player in digital storytelling and media innovation.
Before her journey with Mid-Day, Rachna held leadership roles at Radio City India, where she served as COO – Digital Media and EVP & Business Head – Digital Media & New Business. She was instrumental in pioneering India’s early music streaming and web radio offerings through radiocity.in. Prior to that, she led key verticals at Times Internet, including Communities and Entertainment, contributing to the launch of several innovative content properties and initiatives that shaped early digital media in India.
Rachna began her career with Bennett Coleman & Co. Ltd. (The Times of India), where she played a central role in launching Times FM, India’s first private FM radio network. She later worked independently on media projects, including children’s audiobooks and documentaries, showcasing her broad creative and operational capabilities in traditional and new media. Her appointment at Mid-Day Studios reflects the organization’s commitment to scaling content leadership in the evolving digital landscape.
