Nyon, Vaud, Switzerland, November 2025 — Olam Agri has announced that Rafael M. Chagas has stepped into the role of SVP of HR – Global Business Partner & Regional Head, where he now leads the human capital strategy for the company’s Food & Feed Trading Unit and oversees the Europe, Black Sea and Latin America regions. As a member of the global management team and Managing Director for the Swiss-based entities, Rafael is shaping organizational capability, leadership readiness and people strategy for a fast-growing global agri-business.
Most recently, Rafael M. Chagas served as VP of HR – Regional Head & Global Business Partner at Olam Agri, where he spent more than two years elevating the organization’s human capital across Europe and the Black Sea region. His work focused on driving HR strategy execution, strengthening performance and talent processes, building engagement systems and operational governance, and advancing Olam Agri’s Global People Charter.
Before that, Rafael spent four years at DuPont, holding multiple leadership roles including Global HR & M&A Integration Partner, Global HR Partner & EMEA Region Lead, and Senior Manager – HR Engineering Polymers & EMEA Region Lead. Across these mandates, he played a critical role in executive development, talent management, workforce planning, M&A integration, organizational design and leading HR strategy for global business units.
Earlier in his career, Rafael spent eight years at Louis Dreyfus Company, where he progressed through significant leadership positions such as Head of Human Resources – Europe, Middle East & Africa, Head of Human Resources – Middle East & Africa, and HR Operations & Total Rewards Sr. Manager – Brazil. His work spanned full-cycle HR leadership across global regions, driving organizational effectiveness, HRIS transformation, talent initiatives, mobility, compensation and regional HR operations.
Rafael began his HR journey with impactful roles at DHL, where he led HR Business Partnering, Compensation and Organizational Development across Latin America, followed by early-career experience at Maxion Wheels as Corporate Trainee and at Mercer as Reward Consulting Intern, building a solid foundation in compensation, rewards, and HR systems.
