Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, December 2024 – Rakesh Khaitan has been named the Chief Financial Officer of Mahindra Susten, bringing over 17 years of extensive experience in finance, strategic partnerships, and renewable energy. In his new role, Rakesh will be responsible for steering the company’s financial strategy, optimizing processes, and driving sustainable growth as Mahindra Susten continues to contribute to India’s renewable energy goals.
Rakesh has been an integral part of Mahindra Susten for over a decade. Most recently, he served as Senior General Manager – Head of Strategic Alliances & Partnerships, where he played a pivotal role in establishing India’s largest Renewable Energy Infrastructure Investment Trust (InvIT) and successfully divesting IPP projects worth over ₹8000 crore. Prior to this, he led as General Manager – Business Head, where he developed a 1.65 GW IPP portfolio and ensured liquidity during challenging times by securing successful divestments.

Rakesh’s journey at Mahindra Susten began as DGM – Project Finance & Commercial, where he arranged finance for renewable energy projects and advised on structuring strategic alliances. Before joining Mahindra Susten, he worked with Mahindra & Mahindra as Manager – Finance and Accounts, handling commercial functions, and with Reliance Retail as Commercial Manager, overseeing budgeting, financial modeling, and MIS reporting.
