Ramesh Jayaraman Promoted as Managing Director at Perfetti Van Melle China

Shanghai, China, June 2025 – Ramesh Jayaraman has been promoted to Managing Director at Perfetti Van Melle China, marking another significant milestone in his distinguished career within the Perfetti Van Melle Group. In his new role, he will lead the China operations, bringing his extensive global and cross-cultural management experience to drive the company’s growth in one of its key markets.

Ramesh Jayaraman has had a long and successful association with Perfetti Van Melle, most recently serving as President Director at PT Perfetti Van Melle Indonesia for over seven years. During his tenure, he played a critical role in strengthening the company’s presence and business outcomes in the Indonesian market.

Prior to his Indonesia assignment, Jayaraman held the position of Managing Director at Perfetti Van Melle India Pvt Ltd for nearly thirteen years, based in Gurugram. His leadership was instrumental in shaping business strategy, driving innovation, and building the company’s leadership position in the Indian market.

He also served as Managing Director for Perfetti Van Melle Sri Lanka and Bangladesh and Perfetti Van Melle Bangladesh, where he led business expansion and market penetration efforts, further solidifying the group’s footprint in the South Asian region.

Before joining Perfetti Van Melle, Ramesh Jayaraman had a progressive career with Danone, serving in various senior roles, including Deputy Managing Director at Yakult Danone India, Project Director India at Danone Asia, Marketing Director at Danone Mashreq Biscuits Egypt, Global Innovation Manager at Groupe Danone HQ Biscuit Division, and Category Director at Danone Biscuits China. He started his professional journey with early stints at Britannia Industries Ltd. and Cadbury India Ltd.

Jayaraman holds an MBA in HR from XLRI Jamshedpur, underscoring his strong academic foundation in human resources and leadership.
