Edinburgh, Scotland, United Kingdom, January 2026 — Rennie Donaldson has been appointed Chief Financial Officer at Ian Macleod Distillers Ltd. In his new role, he will lead the company’s finance function, supporting strategic decision-making, financial governance, and long-term growth across the independent, family-owned spirits business.
Prior to joining Ian Macleod Distillers Ltd, Rennie Donaldson was associated with Eden Mill St Andrews, where he held senior leadership roles including Chief Executive Officer and earlier Chief Operating Officer. During this period, he played a key role in steering the business through growth, operational scaling, and strategic development within the premium spirits segment.
Before Eden Mill, he served as Chief Operating Officer at Amici Procurement Solutions, gaining exposure to procurement-led transformation and operational efficiency initiatives.
A significant part of his earlier career was spent with William Grant & Sons, where he held multiple senior finance and transformation roles over more than five years. These included Head of Corporate Development Initiatives, where he was accountable for the design and implementation of a global operating model across organisation design, people, process, culture, and change, as well as Group Finance Reporting Leader, leading a global reporting transformation project reporting directly to the Executive Board.
Prior to this, Rennie Donaldson spent over six years at Edrington, holding roles such as Group Financial Controller, Finance Projects Manager, and Supply Chain Finance Manager, overseeing global reporting, consolidation, planning, audit leadership, and large-scale finance transformation initiatives across manufacturing and supply chain operations.
He began his professional career with Grant Thornton UK LLP as an Audit Executive, building a strong foundation in audit, financial reporting, and advisory services across multiple industries.
