Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, November 2025 — Robert Miller has taken on the role of Chief People Services Officer at SU Australia, joining the Executive Team to lead human resources strategy and drive organisational capability across the national movement. In this senior role, Miller oversees HR strategy, organisational design, recruitment, remuneration and benefits, payroll, work health and safety, and business partnering functions—shaping people practices that support SU Australia’s mission of empowering children and young people.
Before stepping into the role of Chief People Services Officer, Miller served for approximately four years as Group Manager, People Services at SU Australia, where he provided national leadership for HR across all Scripture Union entities participating in the organisation’s merger. His work strengthened policies, people systems, and organisational cohesion across multiple states, supporting a consistent and unified approach to people practices nationwide.
Prior to this, Miller held the position of Head of People Services for more than two years, overseeing HR strategy and operations for SU QLD. His responsibilities included business partnering, cultural initiatives, talent development, recruitment, payroll, and employee relations. In this role, he supported an organisation of more than 700 staff and 3,500 volunteers, strengthening capability across one of Queensland’s largest youth-focused organisations.
Earlier, Miller served as Principal Advisor – Performance and Reward at Energy Queensland, where he contributed to the implementation of SAP SuccessFactors for more than 7,000 employees. He played a critical role in rolling out digital performance management and succession planning solutions across the organisation.
Before joining Energy Queensland, Miller spent over five years with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra as Director – Human Resources, where he managed HR strategy, cultural development, enterprise bargaining, recruitment, and safety initiatives while collaborating closely with senior leadership on organisational direction.
In the earlier stages of his career, Miller held impactful HR and change-management roles at Chandler Macleod, Maurice Blackburn Lawyers, Energex, Queensland Police Service, WorkCover Queensland, and ANZ. Across these organisations, he gained deep experience in organisational change, executive selection, HR advisory, industrial relations, performance management, training, leadership support, and large-scale transformation initiatives—expertise that underpins his leadership today.
